Sydney!

So a few of you know where I am at the moment, but for those I haven't told, I'm in Sydney! I arrived here on the 14th and started an internship with Signature Prints on the 19th and will be there until the end of October. I really love it here already, although it's pretty much been raining every day since I arrived. I'm learning so much with Signature Prints and everyone is so helpful. I love the atmosphere there and how it's all based in a factory where the production and front of house are combined together. I feel really lucky to have received this internship because they do exactly what I want to achieve myself when I am older. At the moment, I am working in front of house dealing with orders and working on the website and in 6 weeks I will be working in production helping to hand print the designs using silk screens from their massive collection. Here are a few pictures that I managed to take of the front of house and factory and I'm sure I'll be adding more as the weeks progress, along with a few Sydney sights!

Presents

After I handed in my project, I decided to use two of my designs to make scarves for gifts for my mum and my friend for their birthdays courtesy of Fabpad, who printed the pieces on to silk chiffon for me and I then hemmed them. I wanted to make personal presents for them this year because I felt like I needed another mini project after completing my degree. Here's some photos of them below, unfortunately I didn't get any of them modelling them!

The end of my degree

Right, time to update you all on what's been happening. I finished my degree in June after a very tiring year of birds! My final major project, as I've mentioned in earlier posts, was called 'Come Fly With Me', where I created designs for both wallpaper and fabric repeats. Here's my complete collection for you to look at.
